Yes it works, basically you get the points added to the area of the field, ie if you allocate 5 MPs and 5 Captains bonus points to midfield you get 10 extra points in that area.
Does that make sense?

Ah, I have just realised you have to put the modifiers in at time of squad selection!! Sorry, I assumed you could add them in and move them around at a later date! I should have realised that I guess.
So, repicked squad with modifiers and that's OK but got this strange looking message:-
"Soccer-Supremo Squad
You've chosen a formation of 4-4-2 19 119 119 119 119 119 119 119 119 119 119 1
Thanks, your team has been picked"

That's for me when debugging, forgot to remove it!
Yeah I need to make squad selection much more user friendly, I've got the ideas just lack the skill and more importantly time.

Not that I am complaining over losing, but I am not not sure that the difference in skills between anfield and swansea should have resulted in a 10-0 cup drubbing!

I think there's a couple of bugs that need sorting with cup games.
One thing to note is that Anfield have a level 16 GK so he is going to save 90% of shots give or take, your level 9 GK will save more like 50-60%
All Anfield's players are level 15 or higher, that's probably the strongest side in the game.
You were unlucky not to get any shots on target, I'll check the code around that area too as with lvl 10 FWds you should see 50% plus on target.
Having said that the logic the game engine uses needs toning down a bit as it was too one-sided.
