Yes, I think some bid management would be good. In fact, it would be fun if it was done like e-bay, so you'd see the highest bid for a player so far, and you could only bid higher. And while your bid was the highest, you couldn't withdraw it. What does everyone think to this? My idea would be to allow contract negotiations with players as it's more realistic but Matija's idea is easier to implement.

As its in testing, why don't we have a couple of weeks of both and see which we find adds most playability/fun?
EDIT: I mean a couple of weeks of one and then the other of course, not the insanity of simultaneous systems!

OK, I'll put Matija's idea into practise after this match.
I quite like the current system as it creates some interesting bidding tactics, ie you can bid low bids for everyone and be lucky enough to pick up a bargain or two as nobody else bothered to bid etc.

Auctions now show the highest bidder and the current bid, you have to bid higher.

Okey dokey. Having now been involved in a small scale auction war with Matija, I now think that from a gameplay perspective, the ebay system may be a slightly better fit. I say this not as the bitter twisted loser (Grrrr!), but only that it currently suits people who are online more (or who's company laptop doesn't block games asccess of course!). At least with ebay you have a clue as to current bid and how that pans to your maximum. Perhaps not including the exact end time may avoid the ebay "tank rush" at the end as well?
